DESCRIPTION:The Chamber will feature The Honorable Holly W. Veal\, Superior Court Judge of Henry County\, as the keynote speaker for its "Lunch with a Leader" keynote series. Judge Veal will inform us about the responsibilities of the Superior Court and provide insight about the changes made on the County adult felony drug court which serves as a model for the State of Georgia.\n\n\n\nThe event will be held on-site with limited in-person seating. \n\nDoor Prizes are Welcome!\n\nDonate a door prize valued at $20 or more representing your business or organization. Recognition for door prizes donations will be included in the E-News and on our Social Media!\n\n\n\nFor catering purposes\, please register by August 10th. Veal is a distinguished Judge and community leader\, who has been a resident of Henry County for more than 15 years. Born and raised in Guyana\, South America Judge Veal pursued her passion for law and received her bachelor's degree from Georgia State University and her law degree from the University of Pittsburgh\, School of Law. She then began her legal career in earnest\, practicing law for over a decade and honing her skills in the areas of criminal prosecution and criminal defense. In 2018\, Judge Veal made history as the first woman and person of color appointed by Governor Deal to sit on the Superior Court bench in Henry County. Her appointment was a testament to her hard work\, dedication\, and commitment to the rule of law. Since her appointment\, Judge Veal has served with distinction\, overseeing the Henry County adult felony drug court\, which was designated as a model court by the Council of Accountability Court Judges.\n\n\n\nIn addition to her judicial responsibilities\, Judge Veal is also an active member of her community\, serving on the board of directors for Hands of Hope\, a nonprofit organization that provides medical support and assistance to individuals in need and working as a frequent volunteer with Miracle Mission Hope House. Judge Veal's contributions to the community have been recognized with numerous accolades and awards including a proclamation from the Georgia House of Representatives and an appointment by the Governor to serve on the Judicial Nominating Commission. Judge Veal has a passion for justice and a tireless commitment to her community which has made her a role model for many.
