Henry County Local Finals | National Civics Bee

Come join us for the Local Finals of the National Civics Bee!

We are excited to partner with The Civic Trust® of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation to bring the 2025 National Civics Bee to our community! This nationally recognized competition promotes civic engagement among middle school students.

The first part of this competition began with middle schoolers in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades from public, private, charter, and home schools to participate in a civics essay competition. This competition challenged them to dive deeper into American democracy, engaging constructively in their community, and building trust in their fellow citizens and institutions. 

Students were judged by distinguished community leaders serving as volunteer Essay Judges. 

Middle schoolers from all over Henry County participated in this year's competition. From all of the entries, twenty students were selected to advance to our local in-person event.

Come join us as we watch our twenty finalists compete for the chance to advance to the Georgia State Finals. One finalist from each state will receive a trip to Washington, D.C. to compete in the National Civics Bee.
