Henry County Public Schools Foundation Launches Campaign to Eliminate Student Lunch Debt
The Henry County Public Schools Foundation is leading a community-wide effort to eliminate student lunch debt before the start of the new school year, helping ensure every student can begin the year focused on learning and success.
Every day, students arrive at school ready to learn, grow, and pursue their goals. While Henry County Schools provides nutritious meals to all students regardless of their lunch account balance, unpaid meal charges continue to create financial challenges for families and place additional strain on school nutrition programs.
Currently, student lunch debt in Henry County Schools exceeds $100,000. Through this initiative, the Foundation hopes to eliminate these outstanding balances before students return to the classroom.
The campaign reflects the Foundation's commitment to supporting students and families while strengthening the entire community. By addressing lunch debt, the initiative helps remove barriers that can impact student well-being and academic success.
According to the Foundation, every contribution directly supports efforts to:
Provide relief to local families facing outstanding meal balances.
Support student nutrition and academic success.
Strengthen school nutrition programs.
Create brighter futures for students throughout Henry County.
Community members, businesses, faith-based organizations, civic groups, and alumni are encouraged to learn more about the campaign and consider supporting the effort.
