Partner with Union Grove: Upcoming Career Events & Opportunities

My name is Amanda McClure, and I serve as the new Work-Based Learning (WBL) Instructor at Union Grove High School. It was wonderful meeting many of you at the Henry County Advisory Council meeting last Wednesday. I know several of you already give your time and expertise through events across Henry County schools, but I would love to invite you to consider supporting Union Grove students through the opportunities below:
- Union Grove Annual Mock Job Interview Fair (November 17 – 20, 2025): Approximately 900 students will participate in mock interviews to build confidence, practice professional communication, and receive valuable feedback from community members like you. This event is one of the most impactful experiences of the year, and your support makes it possible. Feel free to share the invitation with colleagues who may also want to join!

- Union Grove FIRST Annual Career Fair (tentatively scheduled for March 27): We are excited to launch our very first Career Fair this spring! This event will bring together our entire junior class for a day of career exploration. Students will rotate through booths, engaging directly with business and industry professionals to: discover different career pathways, learn about training, education, and skills needed for success in industry, and make connections with potential mentors and future employers. Feel free to share the invitation with colleagues who may also want to participate!

- Guest Speakers (now – April 2026):  We are looking for professionals willing to speak to students in our Career, Technical, Agricultural Education (CTAE) pathways: Agricultural Science, Architecture, Early Childhood Education, Entrepreneurship, Healthcare (Allied and Sports Medicine), Programming.  We would also love to have a speaker present on Career Development topics for 2nd or 3rd year CTAE students or Career, Technical and Student Organization (CTSO) joint meetings.  Please let me know if you have an interest in serving in this capacity!
- Job Shadow Opportunities (now – February 27):  All WBL juniors and seniors are required to complete a 4-hour job shadow in a career field they want to pursue. If you are willing to host a student, I’ll add your contact information to our placement list. Students will reach out directly to schedule with you. (Shadows can be completed in one 4-hour session or two 2-hour sessions.)
- Job Openings and Internships (now – July 2026):  While most students are currently employed, some are seeking opportunities that better align with their long-term career goals. I’m also building a list of employer partners for next year’s WBL placements. If you are hiring, need an intern, or anticipate openings this summer, please let me know! More details are available on the Union Grove High School WBL Employers website.
Thank you in advance for supporting Union Grove High School and helping prepare our students for success in their future careers!
