Strawn & Co., Insurance Celebrates 50 years of Business

2022 is a milestone year for Strawn & Co., Insurance as we celebrate our 50th year in business. Our doors first opened in 1972 by W. Norman Strawn, Sr. at the corner of Hood and Lawrenceville Streets just off the town square in McDonough. Mr. Strawn and his wife Kaye were the only two employees for several years until their son Rusty joined the company in 1985. As Henry County grew, so did Strawn & Co. and in 2001 they acquired the historic Dr. L. M. Tye’s residence at 16 Hampton Street to accommodate their growing staff. The beautifully restored Tye residence was featured in the January 2020 Henry County Chamber Newsletter. Today we have a staff of 38 outstanding employees with locations in McDonough, Locust Grove, Peachtree City, Zebulon, and Warner Robins. Strawn & Co., Insurance’s primary focus is helping over 2,500 small business owners with their insurance needs, such as property, general liability, business automobile, worker’s compensation, umbrellas, and investments. The Henry County Chamber of Commerce has been a very important tool utilized by Strawn over the years and has been instrumental in our growth. The various events offered by the Chamber allows our employees to network with other business owners and discuss their business and personal insurance needs. Throughout the years Strawn has been recognized and has won numerous awards by many organizations and partnering companies for their professionalism and willingness to provide excellent products and customer service. In addition to our extensive work with the Chamber over the years, our commitment to local civic organizations like the Rotary, Lions, and Kiwanis Clubs, as well as numerous nonprofit organizations, has allowed us to serve our community. Many of our employees have served as president and board members of these organizations. As we enter into 2022, our 50th year of business in Henry County, we encourage other small businesses like ours, who are the backbone of our community, to serve and help each other.
