HCWA Fix A Leak Workshop
John Wilson, AMI Field Services Technician for the HCWA, shows students how to turn off a residential water meter while checking for possible leaks. This is one of many tips and activities that will be featured at the first HCWA Fix A Leak Water Conservation Workshop on Friday, March 20.
Want to learn how to find and fix water leaks at your home or business, as well as other tips on how to conserve water, while saving energy and money?
Well, in the spirit of national Fix A Leak Week (March 16-22), the Henry County Water Authority (HCWA) is hosting its first Water Conservation Workshop on Friday, March 20, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the utility’s Administration Building Conference Room, located at 1695 Highway 20 W in McDonough.
To celebrate national Fix A Leak Week, Authority officials are hoping to raise awareness among attendees and other customers of the importance of finding and fixing household water leaks, which in turn conserves water, while saving energy and money.
Guests attending this inaugural HCWA Fix A Leak Water Conservation Workshop will learn:
- How to test your home for hidden water leaks.
- How to set up leak alerts through the HCWA Customer Portal.
- Recommendations from the UGA Henry County Extension Office for drought-resistant plants to include in your spring garden.
- And much more.
The event is free and light refreshments will be served. All attendees will receive a free water conservation kit and seed packets as well.
