BIO
Karen Kirchler is the Deputy Commissioner of Workforce Development for the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG), overseeing the administration and distribution of the state’s federal WIOA Title I and Title III funding through the Office of Workforce Development.  

Prior to accepting this role in 2021, Kirchler served as the Senior Executive Director of Economic Development for the Technical College System of Georgia, coordinating resources and support for the Economic Development divisions within each of the System’s twenty-two technical colleges.  

Before joining TCSG in 2019, she spent over twenty years working in the two-year postsecondary environment, administering educational and training programs for under-educated and basic skills deficient adults, and in 2016, while the Vice President of Adult Education at West Georgia Technical College, she was named National Program Administrator of the Year by the Coalition On Adult Basic Education.  

A lifelong Florida resident before relocating to Georgia in 2008, Kirchler received her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Florida Atlantic University and her Master’s in Communication from Florida State University.
