Veterans History of Henry County
Bill Dodd will be presenting the fascinating history of McDonough throughout America's past wars. Dodd is retired from Fulton County Fire Department where he was the bomb squad commander and head of the arson unit for most of career. He has been a history buff most of his life with a focus on Military history from the revolutionary war to current day. After retirement he was curator of the Nash Farm Battlefield Museum from its opening until it closed. In addition to setting up the museum at Nash Farm, he also provided artifacts and display items for the Heritage Park Military Museum. He has done programs in Henry County Schools about World War II with artifacts on display for them to enjoy. He set up displays at churches and other locations on Memorial Day and Veterans day to honor those that have served to protect our way of life.
