Special Education Paraprofessional
Our World School, a private K12 school for special needs students in McDonough, has enough students on our waitlist for an Elementary (K-2) Grade Band classroom to be opened. This will require a teacher and a paraprofessional to staff that classroom.
We have a teacher and a paraprofessional in each classroom. The maximum number of students in a classroom is 10, so a 5:1 student:teacher ratio. Even though we are a private school, we DO have Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for our scholars. We actually pay about twice what the Henry Schools salary schedule is for paraprofessionals. The minimum educational requirement is a HS Diploma or GED, however we prefer to hire paraprofessionals that could be qualified to move up to a teacher position in the future (bachelor's degree and at least 6 credit hours of education courses).
Our World School is accredited by the Georgia Accrediting Commission (GAC), the Georgia Independent Schools Association (GISA), and Cognia.
