HCWA Awards GA Model Water Tower Competition Winners
After producing the statewide winner of the Georgia Model Water Tower Competition last year, the Henry County Water Authority (HCWA) welcomed another group of students vying for the top tower during a regional competition held Friday (Nov. 14) at the Tussahaw Water Plant.The winners of the 2025 Henry County, Georgia Model Water Tower Competition are:1st place – The “Popcorn Tower” of Matias Granadino, Ayden Destra, Oliver Collins, and Lucas Stinchcomb from Ola Middle School; Christopher Vernon, Teacher.2nd

PENFIELD, Ga. – The Mercer University Board of Trustees, meeting on the historic Penfield Campus in Greene County, today unanimously elected Penny L. Powering Progress: CGEMC Invests Over $320K Back into Local Communities
JACKSON, GA – Central Georgia EMC (CGEMC) Board Member Warren Holder recently presented the Henry County Chamber of Commerce, Henry County Development Authority, and Henry County Board of Education with checks totaling $37,800 each in support of local education, community, and economic development efforts. In total, CGEMC donated $328,270 in unclaimed capital credits across its 16-county service area this year.
