Henry County Honors 2025-2026 Citizen's Academy Participants

HENRY COUNTY, GA — March 18, 2026— The Henry County Board of Commissioners honored graduates of the County’s 2025-2026 Citizen’s Academy program at the March 17 evening commission meeting. County Manager Cheri Hobson-Matthews and Deputy County Manager Kevin Johnson shared an overview of the program and presented certificates to the graduates for their successful completion of the program.

Henry County Citizen’s Academy is a free program designed to help inform and improve participants’ knowledge about day-to-day operations throughout county government.
“It has truly been an exciting experience with the individuals recognized tonight,” said Hobson-Matthews. “They are more informed and engaged citizens. They are ambassadors who can help us continue building a county that helps us reflect the needs and visions of our people.”

“I wanted to find out where am I really living and I wanted to know more about my community, my government and things of that nature,” said Bridget McAlman, a Citizen’s Academy participant. “This program really helped me do that and connect with my neighbors and learn about the things that Henry County is doing.”
